PR-09-13 -- Complaint Filed Against Festus Manufactured Home Dealer

JEFFERSON CITY—The Director of the Manufactured Housing and Modular Units Program of the Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC Staff) has filed a complaint against Brookside Homes, Inc. (Brookside) alleging the Festus, Missouri dealer failed to arrange for the proper initial setup of manufactured homes and failed to correct code violations in new manufactured homes.
Staff’s complaint alleges that inspections found several code violations and setup deficiencies in three manufactured homes. The complaint alleges that more than 90 days have elapsed since Brookside was first ordered to make the repairs to the homes and the dealer has failed and refused to correct code violations or to arrange for the proper initial setup of the manufactured homes.
The PSC staff seeks a commission order authorizing the PSC’s General Counsel to go to circuit court to seek penalties against Brookside. Staff also seeks to deny renewal of Brookside’s registration and instead seeks revocation of the dealer’s license to operate in Missouri.
Brookside has until August 8, 2008, to file a response to the PSC staff complaint.
